A nice note about NOOL from David Bamberger before he moves to California:
Thank you for your decades of support, not only for my projects but also for opera in Northeast Ohio in general. You and your colleagues have made a huge difference in what we artists have been able to accomplish.
With warm regards,
David

Big Bamberger news:
Here is a posting on F/B from Carola Bamberger:
David and I got back from the west coast last week. The result is we decided that, later this summer, we will move to California to be close to our son Steven and his family.
It’s a big change! It’s exciting and scary all at the same time. Leaving friends, family and colleagues with whom we have shared so much over the years is a big deal. However, we can’t resist the benefits of seeing precious granddaughter Maya more often than once every few months, and of not having to get on a plane to do so.
Please keep in touch. In the meantime, we are eagerly looking forward to this new chapter in our lives!

New Board Member
It is with great honor and pleasure that Clive Hamlin will be joining the Northern Ohio Opera board. His wife Mary Hamlin was our board President for 7 years.
During his first board meeting Clive gave 3 creative ideas for board growth and membership attendance at NOOL functions. Bravo Clive.
Dr. Clive Hamlin received his B.S. in Chemistry and Physics from the University of London, United Kingdom, in 1961. He also went on to earn his M.S. in Chemistry. In 1967, Dr. Hamlin earned a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Waterloo, Canada. He spent the next few years as a Postdoctoral Fellow in Biochemistry at the University of Waterloo and the University of Rochester, and in Experimental Pathology at CWRU and University Hospitals of Cleveland. Dr. Hamlin spent some time as an Instructor at CWRU’s Institute of Pathology and went on to be the Director of Clinical Chemistry from 1970 until 1995. During that time he was also an Assistant Professor in Experimental Pathology (1972-1982) and the Trustee and Director of University Medical Laboratories (1984-1995). Presently, his positions include Associate Professor of Pathology at CWRU (1982-), Laboratory Director at University Suburban Health Center (1985-), and Laboratory Director of the National Prion Disease Pathology Surveillance Center (2001-).

Name Changes
Opera Circle has changed its name to “The Cleveland Opera”.
The Cleveland area now has numerous opera groups with similar names so try not to confuse them:
The Cleveland Opera was originally Opera Circle.
Cleveland Opera Theater was originally Opera Per Tutti.
ContempOpera Cleveland was started by the founder of Opera Per Tutti.
Baldwin Wallace Opera Theater (A college teaching institution in Berea, Oh)
